In an exclusive event for Todmorden Book Festival, poet and Patron of Todmorden Book Festival Andrew McMillan will read new poems from his third collection pandemonium in the wild and rugged upland landscape surrounding Todmorden. Andrew’s new work explores the inner world of mental health through an engagement with the natural world.
Andrew McMillan’s debut collection physical was the first poetry collection to win the Guardian First Book Award. The collection also won the Fenton Aldeburgh First Collection Prize, a Somerset Maugham Award, an Eric Gregory Award and a Northern Writers’ award. His second collection playtime was published by Jonathan Cape in 2018 and won the inaugural Polari Prize. Andrew is senior lecturer at the Manchester Writing School at MMU and lives in Manchester. His new collection pandemonium will be released in May 2021.
