Calder Valley Poetry is a small press which has published 23 local poets since January 2016. Hosted by U3A Todmorden Poetry Appreciation Group.


Charlotte Wetton’s first pamphlet I Refuse to Turn into a Hatstand won the Michael Marks Pamphlet Award in 2017. Charlotte won a New Writing North Award in 2019. Her spoken word album Body Politic was released in 2012. She is studying for an MA in Creative Writing at the University of Manchester.




Peter Riley has worked as a teacher, lecturer, bookseller and bus conductor. He is the author of 15 books of poetry, as well as some prose. His latest collections are Pennine Tales and Hushings.


Tom Cleary was born in Clonmel in Country Tipperary and taught English for over 30 years. Dispatching a Horse is his second collection, following The Third Miss Keane.
