From What Is to What If is a call to action to reclaim and unleash our collective imagination, told through the stories of individuals and communities around the world who are creating rapid and dramatic change for the better. The book’s analysis that we have created a ‘perfect storm’ for weakening our imagination, through overtesting in schools, an epidemic of anxiety, the lure of smartphones and social media, the erosion of arts education, spending less time outdoors, the impacts of austerity and many other factors, is timely and powerful.

Rob Hopkins is the co-founder of Transition Network. He was voted one of the Independent’s top 100 environmentalists and was on Nesta and the Observer’s list of Britain’s 50 New Radicals.
