Mary Clear, chair of Incredible Edible Todmorden, speaks about the urban gardening project, which began in Todmorden in 2008.

Incredible Edible’s vision is to bring people together through the power of food. By growing local food that benefits the whole community and changing the way we think about food and the environment, the project has had a far-reaching impact. Since its conception, Incredible Edible’s ethos has been taken up by communities all over the world, and there are now 120 Incredible Edible groups in the UK, and more than 700 worldwide. In the UK, the groups’ collective success has begun to directly influence decision-makers both on a national and local level. In response, the network has evolved into a fully fledged Incredible Edible movement.
